Scott Nelson
Raised over $50M for FastWave Medical
Grew Joovv to over $100M in revenue
Serial founder with multiple exits
Meet Scott Nelson, your guide to raising capital in a market where most medtech startups never get noticed. As co‑founder and CEO of FastWave Medical and co‑founder of Joovv, Scott has lived the entire lifecycle of medtech company building — from zero to first capital, through clinical and regulatory milestones, and into commercial scale.
Scott’s journey started on the front lines of medtech commercialization, where he saw firsthand how good technologies die in obscurity while better‑positioned teams get funded and adopted. Over the last decade, he’s raised tens of millions of dollars across multiple vehicles, sat on both sides of the table with VCs and strategics, and navigated the exact “no one knows we exist” problem this cohort is built to solve.
Frustrated by fluffy fundraising advice, Scott has figured out what actually works for medtech founders: a sharp narrative that resonates with investors, a deliberate outbound system, and a visible founder-led brand that builds momentum long before a data room opens. In this 4‑week cohort, he distills those lessons into a practical, medtech‑specific playbook — helping you tighten your story, get on the right calendars, and turn investor conversations into committed capital.
Clear, Investor-Ready Narrative and Deck
You’ll leave with a tight founder and company story plus a 10–15 slide deck that investors can grasp in two minutes and actually remember.
Targeted Investor Pipeline
You’ll build a real fundraising pipeline: a prioritized list of angels and funds, and a concrete plan to get to ~100 investor conversations, not vague “networking.”
Outbound Scripts That Get Responses
Prospecting assets — warm intro requests, cold emails/DMs, and a forwardable blurb — that you can confidently hand to champions in your network.
Repeatable “Raise Sprint” Process
You’ll understand how to run a focused fundraising sprint instead of a 9–12 month slog, including how to stack meetings, create urgency, and keep momentum from first call to close.
Founder-Led Brand That Stands Out
You’ll walk away with upgraded LinkedIn/profile copy, a simple website narrative, and a 4–6 week content plan that keeps you on investors’ radar while you’re running the process.
Private Community of Peers Who Get It
You’ll get access to a private community of founders and CEOs where you can compare notes on investor outreach, share what’s working in real time, and get support between live sessions.
4-Week Sprint to a Sharper Story, Investor Meetings That Matter, and Real Momentum
This 4‑week cohort blends structured lessons with hands‑on work and live feedback. Each week, you’ll join two small‑group sessions: one focused on training and frameworks, the other on implementation, Q&A, and guest insight from experienced investors and founders. You’ll get concrete assignments, examples, and templates you can use immediately in your current raise, and you’ll keep access to the materials so you can revisit them before your next round.
Week 1 - Clarify Your Story and Deck
Lock in a narrative that actually lands with medtech investors. You’ll tighten your founder story, articulate the clinical problem you’re solving, and translate it into a clear, 10–15 slide deck investors can skim in two minutes and still remember.
You’ll walk away with:
Sharpened founder + company narrative you can use in pitches, emails, and on your site.
Revised deck outline (or updated deck) that follows a proven, investor‑friendly structure.
Clear talking points for “why this problem, why now, and why you.”
Week 2 – Build Your Investor Pipeline and Outbound System
Shift from “random intros” to a focused investor pipeline. You’ll map the right angels and funds, set up a simple tracking system, and develop warm intro requests, cold emails, and forwardable blurbs you can send at scale without feeling spammy.
You’ll walk away with:
Prioritized list of target angels, funds, and connectors tailored to your round.
Lightweight system to track outreach, meetings, and follow‑ups.
Tested scripts for warm intros, cold outbound, and a forwardable blurb champions can use to pitch you.
Week 3 – Run a Focused Fundraising Sprint
Stop slow‑rolling your raise and start running a deliberate sprint. You’ll learn how to stack investor meetings, create urgency without sounding desperate, and move conversations from first call to real interest using a simple, trackable process.
You’ll walk away with:
1-2 month fundraising sprint plan with clear weekly activity targets.
Simple pipeline view so you always know where each investor sits and what happens next.
Meeting framework and follow‑up cadence that keeps momentum moving toward term sheets.
Week 4 – Stand Out With a Founder-Led Brand
Make it easy for investors to understand who you are and why you’re worth a meeting. You’ll upgrade your LinkedIn/profile copy, sharpen your website narrative, and build a 4–8 week content plan that supports your raise and keeps you top‑of‑mind with the people writing checks.
You’ll walk away with:
Updated LinkedIn/profile copy and a punchy “who we are / what we do” for your website.
3–5 ready‑to‑publish posts that highlight your problem, traction, and raise.
Simple content calendar that runs alongside your sprint and amplifies your investor outreach.
Paul O.
Founder & CEO
“I thought our story was ‘pretty clear’ until this course forced me to actually say it out loud and put it in a deck investors could skim in two minutes. The narrative work alone changed how VCs reacted in first meetings — we went from confused nods to specific follow‑up questions about trials, reimbursement, and the round.”
Priya S.
CEO
“I’d been collecting business cards and ‘happy to help’ emails for years, but never had a real investor pipeline. In four weeks, we built a targeted list, stood up a simple CRM, and sent enough of the right outbound to book 25 meetings in two weeks. It finally felt like a process I could run, not luck I was waiting on.”
Mark J.
Co‑Founder and CEO
“The biggest shift for me was treating fundraising like a sprint instead of a never‑ending side quest. The calendar density and follow‑up cadence we built in this course helped us move three firms from first call to serious diligence in under a month. It’s the first time I’ve felt in control of our raise.”
Elena R.
CEO
“I used to assume ‘brand’ was something we’d figure out after we raised. The founder‑led framing in Week 4 flipped that. Cleaning up my LinkedIn, tightening our website copy, and posting a handful of focused updates turned into warm inbounds and made every cold email feel less cold.”
Who is this course for?
This cohort is designed for medical device and health technology CEOs who are either raising their first meaningful round or have raised before but are struggling to get traction in the current environment. If you have a product, a clear clinical problem, and at least some early traction, you’re a great fit.
How much time do I need each week?
Plan on 3–4 hours per week. That includes two 60–90 minute live sessions plus time to work on your assignments. The idea is that everything you do in the course directly supports your active or upcoming raise, not extra “homework” that sits on a shelf.
Do I need to be actively fundraising to benefit?
You’ll get the most value if you’re actively raising or planning to kick off a round in the next 3–6 months. The frameworks still apply if you’re earlier, but all the sessions and assignments are geared toward founders who want investor meetings on the calendar soon, not “someday.”
Will this help if I’m not based in the US?
Yes, as long as you’re building a medtech company that could reasonably raise from institutional or professional investors (angels, family offices, early‑stage funds). The narrative, outbound, and brand systems are geography‑agnostic, and you can adapt the investor targeting and sprint planning to your local ecosystem.
What if I can’t make a live session?
Although it’s highly recommended that you attend live, all sessions are recorded and shared with course attendees, along with slides and templates. You’ll still be able to follow the assignments, and you can submit questions in advance so they’re addressed live even if you can’t join in real time.
